These fluorites are from the Okorusu Mine in the Otjiwarongo Dist. of the Otjozondjupa Region of Namibia. This is an open pit operation that is most famous for the variety of fluorite specimens found there. Fluorite is a halide mineral that contains the elements Ca and F.This specimen consists of a plate of yellow/gold/amber colored crystals with faint purple highlights. The crystals are mostly transparent with a bright vitreous luster. This piece measures 5 1/8 x 3 13/16 x 1 9/16 inches or 130 x 81 x 40 mm.
