Description
This wulfenite Is from the Red Cloud Mine in the Silver District, Trigo Mountains, La Paz County, Arizona, USA. Almost 40 different mineral species were found in this mine but it is famous for the large tabulat wulfenite crystals that were once found there. Wulfenite is a molybdenite that contains the elements Pb, Mo and O. This specimen is made up of a quartz matrix that hosts bright orange translucent and tabular wulfenite crystals with scattered small rhombic calcites. It measures 2 7/8 x 1 5/8 x 1 5/8 inches or 73 x 41 x 41 mm.
