Description
This pentagonite crystal cluster is from the Wagholi Quarries, Wagholi, Pune (Poone) District, Maharastra State, India.This region contains several basalt quarries from which mineral crystal specimens are recovered. The basalt contains vugs and vesicules that can be filled with 9 different mineral species including blue cavansite. It is a silicate containing the elements Ca, V, O, Si and H. This specimen consists of a small stilbite crystal covered basalt matrix that hosts a radiating cluster of electric blue crystals. They are blade-like and translucent. This piece measures 1 3/8 x 1 3/8 x 13/16 inches or 35 x 35 x 20 mm.
