Description
This vesuvianite is from Alchuri in the Shigar District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. This locale contains Alpin-Type clefts that are exploited for a variety of collector grade mineral specimens including vesuvianite. It is a silicate that can contain a variation of the elements (Ca, Na), (Al. Mg, Fe), B, Si, O, H and F, This specimen consists of a cluster of tabular but blocky crystals. They have a dark brown color and vitreous luster. It is a small miniature that measures 1 1/16 x 7/8 x 11/16 inches or 26 x 22 x 17 mm.
