Description
This vanadinite is from the Mibladen Mining District, Midelt, Morocco. This area contains dozens of commercial mines including small diggings that are mined specifically for vanadinite specimens. It is a phosphate mineral that contains the elements Pb, V, O and Cl. This specimen is matrix free with terminated crystal surfaces on all sides. The crystals are very large and complex with hoppered characteristics. It can be displayed from any side. This piece measures 1 3/8 x 1 3/16 x 7/8 inches or 35 x 31 x 28 mm
