Description
This vanadinite is from the Mibladen Mining District, Midelt, Morocco. This area contains dozens of commercial mines including small diggings that are mined specifically for vanadinite specimens. It is a phosphate mineral that contains the elements Pb, V, O and Cl. This specimen is a hedge like formation consisting of dozens of complete intact and damage free crystals that can be displayed from any angle. When oriented from the top or rear (photos 2 ) some of the crystal edges have beige highlights. This piece measures 1 5/8 x 1 3/8 x 1 3/8 inches or 41 x 35 x 35 mm. The largest crystals are approximately 15 mm across.
