Description
This uvite tourmaline are from the Pomba Pit in Serra das Egus, Brumado, Bahia, Brazil. This mine is a commercial producer of magnesite and talc however uvite and other accessory minerals, including emeralds are found there. The mine owners enforce a ban on mineral collecting that includes the miners that work there. This specimen consists of triplet cluster of uvite crystals consistsing of a large central crystal and two smaller penetrating crystals. The bottom as shown in the photo is the former attachment point. This piece measures 20 x 20 x 14 mm
