Description
These elbaite tourmaline crystals are from the Cruzeiro Mine in Sao Jose da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Elbaite is in the Tourmaline Group of minerals. It is a silicate and it contains the elements Al, B, H, Li, Na, O and Si. It can be found in a variety of colors which are caused by traces of other elements in the crystal lattice. This piece consists of a trio of tourmaline crystals with a wafer-like cleavelandite crystals attached. All of the tourmaline crystals are double terminated. They measure 1 1/4 x 1/2 x 3/8 inches or 32 x 12 x 9 mm.
