This tourmaline crystal, variety dravite, is from Mwajanga, Simadjiro District, Manyara Province, Tanzania. Dravite is a boron silicate in the tourmaline series of minerals. It contains the elements Na, Mg, Al, Si, B, O and H. It can be found in a variety of colors ranging from blue to brown. This crystal has a honey amber color. It is transparent with a resinous to vitreous luster. It has an intact but irregular termination. It measures 19 x 10 x 7 mm.
