This torbernite is from the Musonoi Mine in Kolwezi, Kolwezi District. Kantaga Copper Cresent, Shaba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This is a uraniferous copper deposit that contains 64 different minerals including torbernite. It is a uranium mineral that is found in the oxidation zones of the deposit. Torbernite is a phosphate that containsĀ  the elements Cu, U, O, P, and H.This specimen consists of a, vug filled, tuff matrix that contains a variety of bladed and tabularĀ  crystals. They have an emerald color and are opaque to translucent with a micaceous luster. This piece measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/4 x 2 inches or 64 x 57 x 50 mm.
