Description
This formation of adularia, chlorite and titanite crystals is from the Gotthard masif, Adula Mountains, Ticino, Switzerland. This is a classic type specimen for the species and locale. It is a double sided plate-like formation of rhombic adularia crystals that host deposits of greenish chlorite and a twinned titanite crystal which is nestled in the center of the piece. The piece measures 3 1/8 x 2 1/16 x 1 3/8 inches or 79 x 51 x 35 mm.
