Description
This stibnite, stibiconite and barite specimen is from the Dahegou Mine in Lushi County, Sanmexia Prefecture, Henan Province, China. Ten different minerals can be found at this mine including the three on this piece. Stibnite is a sulfide and it contains the elements Sb and S. While stibiconite is an oxide that contains Sb, O and H. This piece consists of a shale like matrix that hosts the two antimony minerals as well as a large blocky barite crystal. It is a sulfate that contains the elements Ba, S and O. This is a large piece that measures approximately 6 x 3 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches or 154 x 82 x 70 mm.
