This stibnite is from the Quiruvilca Mine in the Quiruvilca District, Santiago de Chuco Province, La Libertad Department, Peru. This mine is operated for the recovery of a variety of metals. It contains 37 different minerals including stibnite. It is a sulfide that contains the elements Sb and S. This specimen consists of a mixed matrix of druse quartz and stibnite that is covered on the display side with sprays and accicular clusters of stibnite. It has a bright silver color and a metallic luster. This piece measures  2 x 1 1/8 x 7/8 inches or 50 x 28 x 22 mm.
