Stibnite from the Pachapaqui District

This stibnite is from the Pachipaqui District, Bolognesi Province, Ancash Department of Peru. This district encompasses a large area containing several mines. There are 30 different minerals found in the district including stibnite. It is a sulfide that contains the elements Sb and S. This specimen consists of a quartz matrix and a cluster of silver stibnite crystals with some deposits of stibiconite scattered around the crystals.This piece measures 2 x 2 x 1 5/8 inches or 50 x 50 x 41 mm as displayed in photo 2.
