Description
This spodumene is from the Chia Mine in Sao Jose da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The Chia was mined primarily for the recovery of gemstone and gemstone specimens including spodumene. It is a silicate that contains the elements Li, Al, Si and O. This is a transparent floater crystal that recrystallized in hydro-thermal solution. It has terminated surfaces on all sides. The crystal is green with a glass luster. There are minor oxides on the surface which can be removed if desired.. The crystal can be displayed from any angle. it measures 24 x 15 x15 mm
