This sphalerite crystal rossette is from the Elmwood Mine in Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee, Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, US. This mine contains three shafts called the Elmwood, Cumberland, and Gordonsville. It has an entry slope called the Stonewall. They contain eleven different minerals including sphalerite which is the main ore mineral. This is a rosette shaped cluster of stunning sphalerite crystals resting on a drusy quartz crystal covered chert matrix. This piece measures 2 1/8 x 1 5/8 x 1 1/4 inches or 54 x 41 x 32 mm.
