This silver with acanthite is from the Uchucchacua Mine in the Oyon Province, Lima Department of Peru.This Is a silver mine that contains 53 different minerals including silver and acanthite. Acanthite is a sulfide containing the elements Ag and S. It is found in the oxidation zones of siler ore deposits. This specimen consists of a quartz and ore matrix that contains fissures full of horn and wire silver. There is crude acantite crystals and crusts on the piece. This piece measures 1 7/8 x 1 7/16 x 7/8 inches 48 x 36 x 22 mm.
