This silver with acanthite is from the Uchucchacua Mine in the Oyon Province, Lima Department of Peru.This Is a silver mine that contains 53 different minerals including silver and acanthite. Acanthite is a sulfide containing the elements Ag and S. It is found in the oxidation zones of siler ore deposits. This specimen consists of a quartz and ore matrix that contains an exposed vug that hosts native silver wires and crude acantite crystals and crusts. This piece measures 2 1/4 x 1 1/8 x 11/16 inches or 57 x 28 x 18 mm.
