Description
This native silver with acanthite is from Porco in Agua de Castilla, Antonio Quijarro Province, Potosi Department, Bolivia. This area encompasses hundreds of square kilometers that contain intrusions and deposits of over one hundred different mineral species. It is mined primarily for silver, zinc, tin, lead and associated ore minerals. . This piece consists of a mass of mixed wire and horn silver with acanthite present in varying degrees. This is a miniature sized wire that measures approximately 33 x 25 x 20 mm.
