This native silver wire is from the Dzhezkazgan Mining District, Karaganda Region, Kazakhstan. This region contains about a dozen mines and prospects that are operated primarily for the recovery of copper and zinc. They contain 46 different minerals including native silver. This specimen is a robust wire that is partially covered with a thin acanthite coating. This wire measures approximately 32 x 2 x 1 mm.
