Description
These native silver crystals are from Schneeberg, Erzebirgskreis, Saxony, Germany. This area of Germany has been mined for metals and metal ores dating back to the Middle Ages. It has dozens of mines that contain hundreds of different minerals including and most notably native silver. This specimen has a herringbone type formation of wire-like crystals with minor calcite matrix attached. It measures approximately 30 x 20 x 8 mm.
