Description
These native silver crystals are from the Balcoll Mine, Falset, Priorat, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. This mine which operated from the middle ages has long been closed. Specimens from this locale are not common. Collector quality specimens of silver were recovered from the dumps in 2004. This piece which is from that find. It consists of an etched calcite matrix that hosts exposed dendrite deposits of silver crystals and minor acanthite. it displays nicely from both sides and the top. This piece measures 48 x 30 x 21 mm
