These native silver and acanthite crystals are from Porco in Agua de Castilla, Antonio Quijarro Province, Potosi Department, Bolivia. This area encompasses hundreds of square kilometers that contain intrusions and deposits of over one hundred different mineral species. It is mined primarily for silver, zinc, tin, lead and other associated ore minerals. Occasionally deposits of native silver in crystal and wire form appear on the market. This piece is a combination of the silver sulfide acanthite in crystal form with masses of crystalline silver. It measures approximately 14 x 12 x 8 mm.
