Description
This siegenite is from the Sweetwater Mine, Viburnum Trend District, Ellington near Bunker in Reynolds County, Missouri, USA. The Sweetwater Mine is a lead zinc deposit that contains 23 different mineral including siegenite. It is a cobalt sulfide that contains the elements Co, Ni and S. This specimen consists of a chert matrix that is covered in silver siegenite, golden chalcopyrite, and white dolomite crystals. This piece measures 2 x 2 x 1 3/8 inches or 51 x 50 x 35 mm.
