These scheelite crystals are from the Pingwu Beryl Mine in the Huya Township, Mt Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. This mine is well known for its production of mineral specimens that also includes aquamarine and cassiterite. This specimen consists of a nodule like matrix of muscovite crystals that host dozens of crystals on three sides. Scheelite is a sulfate that contains the elements Ca, W, and O and it is an ore of tungsten. These crystals have dipyramidal habits and a pseudo-octahedral morphology. They also fluoresce in SW UV light (photo 5). This specimen measures 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 x  2 1/2 inches or 10.8 x 9 x 6.3 cm.
