This scapolite is from the Marble occurrence in Morogoro, Uluguru Mountains, Morogoro Region, Tanzania. This locale is a small occurrence that is mined by the locale people for mineral specimens including scapolite. It is a tectosilicate that contains the elements Ca, Al, Si, O and C. This is an extremely large crystal for the species. It is transparent with internal veiling and flawing. It has a light honey color and the prism faces are striated. It is double terminated and they have irregular healed surfaces. It measures 1 1/8 x 15/16 x 3/4 inches or 28 x 24 x 19 mm
