Description
These roselite crystals are from Aghbar, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Region, Draa-Tifilalet Region, Morocco. This locale has two active mines that contain 53 mineral species including roselite. It is an arsenate that contains the elements Ca, Co, As, O and H. This specimen consists of a massive calcite matrix that contains a small exposed vug containing large (for the species) gemmy roselite crystals. The vug is on one end of the piece and is best viewed from the end as displayed in photos 1 and 2. The largest crystal is approximately 5 mm. The piece measures 1 1/4 x 1 x 1 5/8 inches or 32 x 25 x 41 mm as displayed in the photo 1 and 2.
