Description
These roselite crystals are from Aghbar, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Region, Draa-Tifilalet Region, Morocco. This locale has two active mines that contain 53 mineral species including roselite. It is an arsenate that contains the elements Ca, Co, As, O and H. This specimen consists of a cobalt rich matrix that is covered with a carpet of gemmy roselite crystals. The crystals are rose colored but look purple due to the dark matrix. They have a glass luster. The piece measures 1 3/4 x 1 3/8 x 11/16 inches or 44 x 35 x 17 mm.
