This rose quartz crystal cluster is from Lavra de llha in Taquaral, Itinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This pegmatite deposits is on a small Island in the Jequintinhonha river. Quartz is a silicate containing the elements Si and O. Rose quartz gets it’s unique pink colors from the trace elements Al and P that are present in the crystal lattice. It is found In pegmatite pockets usually as a secondary growth on quartz and other silicates. This is a matrix free cluster of crystals that is terminated and complete on all sides with a possible former attachment point at the base.The crystals are pink to light pink and translucent with some transparent areas. They have a glass luster. This piece measures 1 5/16 x 3/4 x 9/16 inches or 33 x 19 x 14 mm.
