These rose quartz crystals are from Galileia in the Doce Valley of Minas Gerais, (Aimores Pegmatite District) Brazil. Quartz is a silicate containing the elements Si and O. Rose quartz gets it’s unique pink colors from the trace elements Al and P that are present in the crystal lattice. It is found In pegmatite pockets usually as a secondary growth on quartz and other silicates. This specimen has a mostly milky quartz core with minor feldspar attached. It is covered on the display side with crystals and clusters of rose quartz crystals. Other surfaces of the piece have healed surfaces. This piece measures 1 11/16 x 1 1/8 x 1 1/8 inches or 44 x 28 x 28 mm.
