These rose quartz crystals are from Plumbago Mountain in Newry, Oxford County, Maine, USA. Quartz is a silicate containing the elements Si and O. Rose quartz gets it’s unique pink colors from the trace elements Al and P that are present in the crystal lattice. It is found In pegmatite pockets usually as a secondary growth on quartz and other silicates This specimen consists of a rose quartz crystal clusters on a milky quartz matrix.They have a pastel pink color and a matte to vitreous luster. This piece measures 1 5/8 x 1 3/16 x 5/8 inches or 41 x 31 x 16 mm as displayed in photo 3.
