Description
This rhodonite is from the San Martin Mine, in Chiurucu, Huallanca, Bolognesi, Province, Ancash Department, Peru. This mine contains eight different mineral species including rhodonite. It is a silicate that contains the elements Mn, Si and O. This specimen consists of attached acicular clusters of bladed rhodonite crystals. The crystals have a rich rose pink color. This piece measures 2 x 1 1/16 x 7/8 inches or 50 x 26 x 22 mm.
