Description
This rhodizite is from the Ampasogona Pegmatite in the Betafo District, Antananarivo Province, Madagascar. The specimens are collected by the villagers in the Highland pegmatites and are then sold in the local market place for collector pieces. It contains the elements K, Cs, Al, Be, B, and O. This specimen consists of a mostly feldspar/quartz matrix that contains a single well defined rhodizite crystal. This piece is a miniature that measures 2 x 1 3/8 x 1 3/16 inches or 50 x 35 x 31 mm.
