Description
This pyromorphite is from the Yangshou Mine in Yangshou County, Guilan Prefecture, Guangxi, China. This is a lead-zinc deposit containing 15 different mineral species including the lead phosphates pyromorphite and plumbogummite. This specimen consists of a large (for the species) double terminated pyromorphite crystal with associated secondary crystals that have all been partially altered to plumbogummite. The yellow green pyromorphite crystals are well defined with hoppered terminations. The surfaces of the crystals have been replaced with a layer of blue-green micro plumbogummite crystals. The specimen can be displayed from all sides and angles. This specimen measures 1 1/2 x 11/16 x 9/14 inches or 38 x 20 x 14 mm.
