Description

This pyromorphite is from the Daoping Mine in Congcheng Co., Guilan Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This is a lead-zinc deposit containing 13 different mineral species including pyromorphite. It is a lead phosphate that contains the elements Pb, P, O, and Cl. This specimen consists of a plate of barrel and spike shaped pyromorphite crystals on a remnant limonite matrix. All crystals are intact and the specimen can be displayed from several angles. It measures 2 x 1 1/2 x 5/8 inches or 50 x 38 x 16 mm.
