Description
This pyromorphite is from the Daoping Mine in Congcheng Co., Guilan Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This is a lead-zinc deposit containing 13 different mineral species including pyromorphite. It is a lead phosphate that contains the elements Pb, P, O, and Cl. This specimen consists of a thin but heavy crystalline quartz matrix that is mostly covered on the display surface with spike-like crystals and acicular clusters of green pyromorphite crystals. This piece measures 3 x 2 3/8 x 15/16 inches or 76 x 60 x 24 mm.
