Description
This pyromorphite is from the Daoping Mine in Congcheng Co., Guilan Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This is a lead-zinc deposit containing 13 different mineral species including pyromorphite. It is a lead phosphate that contains the elements Pb, P, O, and Cl. This specimen consists of a quartz crystal formation that hosts prismatic and barrel-like pyromorphite crystals. The crystals have a bright yellow color because they are calcium rich.They have hexagonal habits. This piece measures 3 x 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches or 76 x 45 x 64 mm as displayed in photo 1.
