Description
These pyrite crystals are from Dal’negorsk in the Kavalerovo Mining District, Primorskiy Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia. This region has nine known deposits that contain over 190 minerals including the iron minerals pyrite (Fe, S) and siderite (Fe, C, O). This piece consists of several interpenetrating arborescent calcite crystal clusters that are covered with a thin layer of siderite and host several dodecahedal pyrite Fe, S) crystals. This piece measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches or 64 x 64 x 45 mm.
