This pyrite (pyritized) fossil is from Charmouth Beach, Charmouth, West Dorset, Dorset, England, United Kingdom. This is Englands favorite fossil collecting area. Animal fossils from the Jurassic Period wash out of the cliffs and can be found mixed in the gravels of the beach. Several species of minerals contributed to the fossilization of the animals including pyrite.This is a pyrite or pyritized ammonite fossil (“Death Bed”) of the species Eoderoceras armatum that dates to about 196 million years in age. It measures approximately 30 x 20 x 10 mm. It comes in a glass covered case that measures 4 3/8 x 3 3/8 x 7/8 inches
