Description

This pyrite is from the Huanzala Mine, Huallanca, Dos de Mayo Povince, Huanco Department, Peru. This a predominately lead-zinc mine but 63 other mineral species can be found there. It is one of the premier locales for pyrite specimens. This locale is famous for the outstanding variety and quality of pyrite specimens found there. This stalactite has a visible water channel and is made up of dozens of bright gold crystals up to about 10 mm. There are also some calcite crystals on the piece. It measures approximately 1 3/4 x 7/8 x 3/4 inches or 45 x 22 x 19 mm.
