This proustite from the Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon Province, Lima Department of Peru.This Is a silver mine that contains 53 different minerals including the silver sulfide proustite. It contains elements Ag, As,and S. It is found in the oxidation zones of silver ore deposits. This specimen consists of a massive quartz and pyrite matrix that contains an exposed vug containing a lining of druse quartz crystals that hosts a cluster of proustite crystals.  This piece measures 2 x 2 x 1 3/4 inches or 50 x 50 x 45 mm.
