Description
These polybasite crystals are from the Creede Mining District in Mineral County, Colorado, USA. This district contained dozens of mines operated for the recovery of silver, gold and precious metal ores. It has quite a long history as related to the settling and prosperity of Colorado. The mines contained 90 different minerals including the silver sulfide polybasite. This piece consists of stacked tabular crystals of polybasite that form a rosette type formation. It measures 19 x 15 x 5 mm.
