Description
This pargasite crystal is from the Hunza Valley in the Gilgit District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. This area is mined for a variety of gemstone crystals and pargasite was foundĀ in marble associated with the site. Pargasite is a silicate and it contains the elements Na, Ca, Mg, Al, Si, O and H. This specimen consists of a white marble matrix measuring 2 1/4 x 2 x 1 1/4 inches and it holds a partially exposed green pargasite crystal that measures 9 mm.
