Description
This morganite crystal is from Sao jose da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This locale contains several mines but morganite is identified as being at only the Pederneira Mine. Morganite is the pink variety of beryl and it contains the elements Be, Al, Si and O. This crystal has a typical semi-hexagonal shape. It is translucent to transparent and has a glass luster. It has partial elbaite tourmaline crystals attached. It measures approximately 51 x 30 x 19 mm.
