This molybdenite is from the Moly Hill Mine in La Motte, Abitibi RCM, Abitibi-Temiscaminque, Quebec, Canada. This is a pegmatite mine that contains fourteen different minerals including molybdenite. It is a sulfide contaning the elements Mo and S. This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that has a lamellae molybdenite crystal aesthetically placed on the display side. This piece measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/4 x 3/4 inches or 38 x 32 x 19 mm.
