Meteorites – Etched Slice and Natural Gibeon Variety

This collection consists of a pair of Gibeon Meterorite specimens. The one on the left is a sliced piece that is etched in acid. The etching process reveals the octahedral crystalline structure found in this type of iron octahedrite meteorite. The piece on the right is a natural un altered piece of the meteorite. It fell in prehistoric times in what is now Great Nama Lama Land, Namibia. The etched slice measures 15 x 3 mm and it weighs 4.4 grams. The piece on the right measures 23 x 10 x 5 mm and it weighs 4.7 grams. They come in a 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch Riker Mount
