Description
This malachite is from Kerrochene in the Khenifra Province, Beni Millal-Khenifra Region, Morocco. An exact description and history are unknown and it is unremarkable except for the malachite and azurite specimens found there. Malachite is a carbonate and it contains the elements Cu, C, O and H. This piece consists of multiple spray-like formations of elongated fibrous malachite crystals. They have a chatoyant emerald color and a silken luster. It measures 2 1/2 x 7/8 x 1/2 inches or 63 x 22 x 12 mm.
