Description
This linarite is from the Blanchard Mine in Bingham, Hansonburg District, Socorro County, New Mexico, USA. This is an old lead mine that contained over 50 different minerals including linarite. It is a lead sulfate that contains the elements Pb, Cu, S, O and H. This specimen consists of a mixed matrix of barite, fluorite and quartz crystals that hosts an exposed crystal vein containing prismatic linarite crystals, cubic galena crystals altered to anglesite and minor brochantite This piece measures 3 x 2 1/4 x 1 3/8 inches or 75 x 57 x 35 mm.
