These libethenite crystals are from the Kambove District, Haut-Katanga,Democratic Republic of the Congo. This is a large area that contains many mines that contain over 170 different minerals including libethenite. It is a copper-phosphate that contains the elements Cu, P, O and H. This specimen consists of a bowl shaped tuff matrix whose center is filled with dozens of lustrous libethenite crystals. They are translucent under bright light and magnification. They have complex growth and are about 5 mm or larger.in size. This piece measures 2 7/8 x 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 inches or 73 x 45 x 32 mm
