Leucite Crystals from the Caserta Province, Campania

This leucite is from the Roccamonfina Volcanic Complex in the Caserta Province, Campania, Italy. Five species of minerals are present at this locale including the silicate leucite. It contains the elements K, Si, Al, And O.. This specimen is a matriix free cluster of intersecting crystals that is good on all sides. The crystals have well defined edges, corners and prism faces. There are some small augite crystals associated with the leucite. This piece measures 1 3/8 x 1 1/8 x 1 inches or 35 x 28 x 25 mm.
